FAQ's

Q. What do I get out of being a member?

A. You become a part of one of the most dynamic and fast growing Jr. breed association on the west coast. You will have the opportunity to run for office, participate in fun activities, attend meetings, and much much more.

Q. How much are dues and why do we have to pay them?

A. Dues are $10.00 per year and that helps a little to cover some expenses. Most other associations charge $15-$20.00.

Q. I think I already paid my one time dues. Why do I owe again?

A. The dues you paid were for the National Jr. Shorthorn Association that you are required to join in order to get a discount on association transactions. The state associations do not benefit from this money at all. All of our revenue is derived from our membership dues and fundraising.

Q. How do I sign up for the California Junior Livestock Association?

A. First of all, you need to sign up as a CJSA member before your points can count in the CJLA Points Standing. Then you can contact Heidi Beljean at 408-776-7611, or go to http://www.californiajuniorlivestock.org.

Q. Do I have to own a Shorthorn in order to be a member.

A. Absolutely not. If you pay your $10.00 dues every year, you are a member. It doesn't matter if you own a shorthorn or not.
